You've tried and you know where you went wrong so to me you sound in the perfect position to start up again. Take a marketing course on Udemy and go from there. Trial and error until you find out what works.

I took a udemy online marketing course for fun and started an online business in parallel with the course. I would recommend this route. Quit my job 7 month later to work on my business full time.
