The Nature of Code is Daniel Shiffman's free video series from The Coding Train on simulating natural systems with code. It covers topics such as vectors, forces, oscillation, particle systems, autonomous agents, and genetic algorithms, with the math and algorithms explained alongside the code.
Commenters describe it as a fantastic explanation of the algorithms and math behind simulations and AI, and one who followed it used it to build 2D canvas simulations even though the examples are not in Python.

I'd suggest that the YouTube channel 3Blue1Brown is a fantastic place to start for learning just the math and algorithms behind a lot of machine learning, you can really go as deep into the math as you want to with that channel. Other channels that I'd recommend here that you might find very…
You should check out this course. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRqwX-V7Uu6aFlwukCmDf0-1-uSR7mklK While it isn't for Python you can still learn a lot from it. I'm following it with HTML canvas right now. If you're interested in making simulations on a 2d canvas I recommend you watch it.
