2 recommenders · 2 threads · recommended in 2 years, 2015–2022 · score 2.3
Stanford's graduate-level introduction to modern cryptography taught by Dan Boneh, covering provable security and the design of cryptographic primitives and protocols. The course materials are published openly on the course site, and a Coursera version of the course also exists.
Commenters call Boneh's classes highly recommended and praise him for sharing the course materials openly, and one says the Coursera version is of similarly high quality with less depth.

Dan Boney is awesome. I really like that he is sharing his classes and materials online (I would highly recommend his classes in Stanford[0] and his coursera class[2] as well). I think this is still a work in progress / draft so don't expect to have an ebook available yet.

I took Boneh's graduate class a few years ago through SCPD. Recommended if you can justify it. He has a Coursera course that I assume is of similar high quality with less depth and rigor.
We used the above two books in addition to Handbook of Applied Cryptography by Alfred J. Menezes, Paul C. van Oorschot and Scott A. Vanstone. I notice Boneh no longer uses the latter for CS255; perhaps it is too out of date now? At any rate, it is also available free on the web: https://cacr.uwaterloo.ca/hac/
Yes seems that we will not see it in the near future... By fun I sometimes go through the project of the cs255 course: https://crypto.stanford.edu/~dabo/cs255/
