If you've got the time, I highly recommend taking CS107 at Stanford (for free): http://see.stanford.edu/see/courseinfo.aspx?coll=2d712634-2b....
I became incredibly comfortable with C -- memory management, handling pointers, having a very clear picture of how types are represented in memory -- after taking that course. The lecturer (Jerry Cain) is fantastic as well.
The course changed this year so I don't have any thoughts on the current CS107 offering if you plan on taking it through their online course offerings for pay. The lectures, syllabus, and materials on Stanford Engineering Everywhere (OpenCourseWare at Stanford) are all from the course I took two years ago.
One answer, and it is solved: on iTunes, under Podcasts, search for a Stanford course called "Programming Paradigms." The first few lectures by Jerry Cain cover C and he is great at getting down to the detail and really clarifying the fundamentals such as pointers.
From a CS perspective, it's a basic introductory class, but the level of detail means that following this course will get you very clear on C as well as what you need to understand before C like memory layout.
If anyone wants to experience the pinnacle of "Does that make sense?", I highly suggest watching Stanford's "programming paradigm" lectures by Jerry Cain (they're on youtube). He's a fantastic professor, but it almost makes the lectures unbearable after a few hours.
