A Udemy course by Jonas Schmedtmann covering advanced CSS techniques, Sass, flexbox, grid, animations, and responsive layout, building a full website along the way.
Commenters call it one of the best CSS courses they've taken and say it goes far deeper than free tutorials on layout, design patterns, and Sass.

Check out 'Advanced CSS and Sass' course on Udemy by Jonas Schmedtmann, it's so good compared to free tutorials on YouTube. Or in short: you can do practically all positioning stuff with Grid combined with auto-fit + minmax, coupled with media queries to suit all your needs. There is a good guide…
I’m not certain that I would consider any of the udemy bootcamps a deep dive. Andrei Neagoei’s was pretty good for a brief intro to a couple topics and the tech stack is more relevant to modern development. If you have at least a basic understanding of HTML/CSS my advice would be to do Jonas…
I like the Brad Traversy (Sorry if I've misspelled the name) JS course (Modern JS from the Beginning) I didn't take it on Udemy though. I also like the Jonas Schmedtmann’s CSS course, one of the best CSS courses I've taken. If you want to up your game in CSS, this is the course. I'm a .Net guy and…
Thank you! I mostly learned through a series of tutorials and making stuff! For frontend code, I use Angular and SCSS. Here are two tutorials that really really shaped my foundation (make sure you're paying like $10 for these and not the $200 'original' price): •…
Hey man! Off the top of my head, Traversy Media, Wes Bos, Level Up Tutorials and Net Ninja all offer FREE tutorials on Youtube. Between the 4 of them, they cover an insanely wide spectrum of topics, and they are constantly putting out new content. CSS, JavaScript, HTML, React, everything. These…
^ agree with this. Colt's course is great for a complete beginner, but doesn't cover front-end topics very deeply. I'd highly recommend Jonas' Advanced CSS and SASS course for starters. It provides a wealth of knowledge and he uses very up-to-date technology + architectural principles. Looks like…
I can recommend Jonas Schmedtmann's advanced CSS course on Udemy. Don't worry about the pricing, you won't actually only have x hours left at that price, it's always around $10\-20. This course covers many of the common design patterns used in professional development in the first project alone…
Check out Udemy's $10 sales every ~2 weeks. They have great courses for web development. I suggest starting out with Colt Steele's Web Developer Bootcamp, it'll teach you all the basics. Also suggest "Advanced CSS and Sass" course by Jonas, AMAZING course if you want to get deeper into CSS. Also…
Here is the Udemy class I took. Highly recommend it, https://www.udemy.com/course/advanced-css-and-sass/
It sounds like you need to brush up on your css. Try taking Jonas schmedmans Udemy course on css or advanced css. Your sidebar example is dirt simple in flex and his course is where I power levelled in css.
If you interested to become web developer so i suggest for one of my favourite and good udemy course HTML and CSS https://www.udemy.com/share/101Wtc3@Ax11ywyDjcmQDGmcS5w7-lr7luQZCiOK1SVFle5rXDc4Db64pNNJ4H9p8C9Y_1U0/ Javascript…
https://www.udemy.com/user/jonasschmedtmann/ His "HTML and CSS" and "Advanced CSS and SASS" courses are excellent
YouTube tutorials are great, but they only go so far. I'll add that there are some great paid courses on Udemy.com. Udemy has sales frequently, so you can often find courses for under $20 (often listed for over $100) that have 13+ hours of content. Unfortunately, they had a sale that ended a…
Jonas Schmedtmann's advanced CSS/SASS course is excellent: https://www.udemy.com/user/jonasschmedtmann/
In my opinion you don't need to make your portfolio website look "amazing" unless you're marketing yourself as a web designer, but you should definitely learn enough CSS as a front end dev to make something look decent without having to immediately reach for a CSS library like Bootstrap or…
I recommend this course to all my friends that start web dev. https://www.udemy.com/course/advanced-css-and-sass/ Related to flexbox and grid, there are a few practice websites that can help you learn. https://flexboxfroggy.com/ But if you pass this stage, the next stage is to just build a few…
Look for an advanced CSS course on udemy by Jonas Schmedtmann. Someone on here recommended it to me a while ago. You will leave that course a CSS jedi. Edit: https://www.udemy.com/course/advanced-css-and-sass/
Wes Bos has two free courses on FlexBox and Grid: https://cssgrid.io/ https://flexbox.io/ And this is a free 2 hour tutorial on Sass from codeSTACKr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_a5j7KoflTs And a short 20 minute crash course by Dev Ed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zz6eOVaaelI If…
Here is a curated list of all the best udemy course that I'm currently doing as a part of my full stack web development journey. Basic Web Development : 1.Angela Yu Course - Must for beginners 2.Vanilla Javascript ( https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-javascript-course/ ) - Must for learning…
I feel like books for CSS would be hard to recommend since the technology changes so often. I would definitely take Wes Bos' free Grid and Flexbox courses, and then take Jonas' Advanced CSS course on Udemy. It's cheaper than a book.
If you need to improve your css skill, then try Jonas's udemy course \[Advance css\]. It really helps me to become confident on css.
Honesty that course you did is really outdated so please not use JQuery in 2020 and don't use things like bootstrap as beginner untill you learn to use css and know how to how layouts work. The things you do need to learn is HTML, CSS, Javascript the right way best to find current courses on that…
As a web developer myself, if you struggle with css, you might struggle even more with big back end stuff since it can be way more complex. I can suggest to look into an advanced css course that teach you sass,a css pre processor and also a full flexbox one. Look out Jonas schimerman advanced css…
Self-taught frontend dev here too! Congrats on your learning, and definitely keep it up! I'm no expert, but this is my experience and what helped me: If you don't want to move to JavaScript quite yet, I'd recommend taking this Udemy course on advanced CSS and Sass. (Also, Udemy has sales all the…
I can highly recommend Jonas' course on Udemy: https://www.udemy.com/course/advanced-css-and-sass/
I've been taking a course from some guy from Ireland who does a good job teaching basic CSS such as selectors and applying styles. To be honest, his tutorials on flexbox are quite short, he doesn't teach responsiveness in a lot of detail either but he does about 2.5 hours teaching CSS in a clear…
We bought that book at work. Highly recommend it for the “why” of ux/ui. Paired with the recommended advanced css/sass Udemy course above for the “how” of ux/ui, you should be well on your way.
If you want to spend some money I recommend Jonahs Advanced CSS course on Udemy. It’s three projects using floats and css, flex and scss and grid. I learned a shit ton, honestly felt like a super beginner and now more intermediate after doing it and replicating it.
I'd also recommend you to check out some video courses like these: * https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-web-developer-zero-to-mastery/ * https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-web-developer-course-2/ * https://www.udemy.com/course/advanced-css-and-sass/
No worries at all. I definitely know where you're coming from and have felt that confusion myself. If it's a help, I'd be happy to put some of these resources into a more opinionated ordered list of what I'd recommend in what order. Honestly l, where you are at, I would recommend starting with the…
Know this post has a ton of comments but figured I’d share my perspective. I’ve been a “full-stack” engineer for about 3 years in industry, at Qualtrics and Amazon. I recently dropped 20 bucks for a Udemy course on “advanced CSS”, and it has been well worth it. I poke around and only watch…
If you've got £11 to spare then this course is excellent: https://www.udemy.com/advanced-css-and-sass/
Well, like I said: FreeCodeCamp web dev & JS certs. Colt Steele's Web Developer Bootcamp/Udemy. Advanced CSS and Sass from Jonas Schmedtmann/Udemy. Also did JavaScript 30 from Wes Bos and CSS in 30 Days from FreeCodeCamp/Brad Hussey on YouTube and Complete React Tutorial from Net Ninja. I've also…
CSS can definitely be tricky, especially when you're just starting. with that said, if you know the basics, this course by Jonas Schmedtmann is really good: https://www.udemy.com/advanced-css-and-sass/
Me personally, I wouldn't go somewhere looking to 'master' CSS, I wouldn't have that mindset because even if you feel comfortable with it, you'll come across things and methods that you hadn't been aware of. Instead maybe set small goals and learn what you need achieve them. In my experience I've…
I would recommend this course https://www.udemy.com/advanced-css-and-sass/
Hi! I'd recommend these three Udemy courses, assuming you're already comfortable with HTML and CSS: Javascript: https://www.udemy.com/course/modern-javascript/ React: https://www.udemy.com/react-2nd-edition/ Sass: https://www.udemy.com/advanced-css-and-sass/
As with a lot of things with CSS, it can be done a number of ways. There is a "best practice" and it is based on using a base size of 10 instead of 16 so you don't have to calculate all your `em`s and `rem`s. I learned it in this excellent Udemy course…
This is pretty good, but I'd suggest this order: 1. Zero to Mastery by Andrei 2. Advanced CSS by Jonas 3. JavaScript by Jonas (would recommend Anthony Alicea's JS course) 4 + 5. Colt Steele's DS & Algorithms course alongside Andrei's senior course (although personally i didnt gain much out of this…
Jonas Schmedtman's Advanced CSS course on Udemy is excellent in my opinion. Goes into fundamentals, responsive design, flexbox, animations, SASS/SCSS, best practices, etc. Udemy always has crazy sales and you should be able to get it for under $10 at some point.
The advances sass course by Jonas is a solid start as it will give you the fundamentals of css and scss, I would recommend looking at Brad Traversy courses https://www.udemy.com/user/brad-traversy/ He's a solid teacher with alot of front end courses, he's Javascript course is expetional, some may…
All the CSS lines are done from SASS, and it will auto compile to CSS. There is a repo for it but it's not updated. I'll go ahead and update it and send you the link! Forgot to answer your other question: Sass took me around 2 weeks? I learned it from Udemy…
There is always going to be more to learn, and you can focus on pretty much anything next. I would personally suggest shoring up your front end skills first, as the JS will translate directly to getting better with Node, and I find that it provides a clearer path to getting job ready (I have seen…
It sounds like the way you are trying to learn CSS is not very practical. It's more than just tweaking for hours. If you set it up properly with BEM and really understand the idea behind CSS it won't be so bad. I highly recommend you both change your predisposition and take a nice CSS course like…
If you are in or near a major city you might look into a bootcamp to get you jumpstarted. If you intend to go at it on your own (or cant afford a bootcamp). Take a look at some of the courses on Udemy. I've been astonished at how good some of them are. Some suck too, but for front end Dev there…
Advanced CSS and SASS. One of the best courses on Udemy in my opinion
There's plenty of free resources out there, one of them being FreeCodeCamp which I'd suggest for someone starting out. But YMMV with free resources; I'd start snagging Udemy courses during their $10 sales as soon as you think you want to go deep into web dev. If you choose that route, definitely…
Udemy is amazing. I started with colt Steele and now I'm on advanced sass and CSS by Jonas S. I've used code school, codecademy, freecodecamp, those html CSS and js books which are all great but I love the hands on some udemy courses give you with real working projects built from scratch.
Yes! It's outdated for sure in terms of not at all introducing ES6 stuff and not using Promises etc. But I would use it as a high-level introduction to all of the different aspects of a full-stack workflow and then deep-dive into each specific subtopic. Colt is an amazing teacher and that can't be…
Really depends on what you want, WordPress will defenitely work, and with some YouTube tutorials shouldn't be that hard \(After a quick search: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cbvZf1jIJM\) But I think it's way more fun to make it yourself completely, but only if you want so. If you do, there are…
Highly recommend "advanced css and sass" by Jonas Schmedtamann from Udemy. This course you can get for $10. You can learn about mixers and extenders and all kinds of awesome techniques.
There’s a great course on Udemy re Advanced SASS that really helped me get the power of CSS and using a CSS first mindset. https://www.udemy.com/advanced-css-and-sass/
My opinion: Learned webdev for ~6 months. I had Treehouse for one month, and I switched back to Udemy since. Treehouse is still a great platform though; don't get me wrong. I think what makes Treehouse really stand out vs. all the other options, which tends to be overlooked, is workspaces. They…
